Meet Bobby Jindal

Perhaps you are all ready aware of Bobby Jindal. The name has been floated as a potential VP for McCain. Perhaps you've thought...ugh, a young and well spoken "man of color," is only being spoken about to off-set Obama's appeal. But you'd be wrong. Would he be a good VP candidate? Yes. Would he be a good VP? Of course.

But whether or not the VP thing is in the cards, what is important is to know this: Bobby Jindal will be President of the United States of America in your lifetime - and probably sooner than later.

Now, I understand what you're thinking: KneeDeep, you're full of shit.

I agree. Conjecture and B.S. are two fields in which I'm steeped with expertise. But in the immortal words of Hans and Franz, "Listen to me now, and hear me later." This man will be in the Oval Office.

So, in case you don't all ready (and even if you do) let's get to know him.

Here's a good place to start:

Interested? Quickly, let's talk about the stuff that they left out in the interview.

Graduated with Honors from Brown with a Bachelors in Biology and Public Policy.

Graduated from Oxford with a Masters in Political Science.

Rhodes Scholar.

Brains? Check.

Gained admissions to both Yale and Harvard in medical and law schools. Instead of heading off to school, he felt he could make an impact in his home state and accepted an appointment as the head of the Lousiana Department of Health and Hospitals, the largest department in the state of Louisiana. It took him two years to convert a $400 million deficit into a $220 million surplus.

Fiscal conservative? Check.

In 1998, he was appointed Executive Director of the National Bipartisan Committee on the Future of Medicare.

Does he truly understand Medicare? Check.

In 1999, he became the President of the University of Lousiana system and it's system-wide enrollment of 80,000 plus system.

Education experience? Check.

In 2001, President Bush appointed him the Assistant Secretary of Planning and Evaluation for the US Department of Health and Human Services.

Healthcare? Check.

His election to congress in 2004? Won with 78% of the vote. In 2006? Won with 88% of the vote.

Backs up his big talk? Check.

He ran for Governor again in 2007. Won with 54% of the vote. Less impressive? Well, consider that unlike a normal head to head election, a "Louisiana Primary" is a two-round primary where all candidates, regardless of party participate against each other. The top two candidates then compete head to head in the next election. UNLESS, there is one person who wins the majority. Jindal, with 54%, won the majority and thusly won the election. In one round. He DECIMATED a field of 11 other candidates, including several leading Democrat power players. His closest competitor? He finished with a whopping 17%!

Large scale management experience? Check.

Now perhaps you're thinking: "Okay, so the guy's got a good resume. It takes more than a good resume, and a glossy presence to win the Presidency, KneeDeep!"

Then consider this, on top of his glowing resume, his nice-guy attitude, his brains, his successes, the fact that as an Indian-American Catholic - IN THE SOUTH, there's also this little tidbit: The guy actually delivered his son when his wife went in to labor in their house.

So yeah, he's super-human.

His anti-abortion record is spotless, his gun-rights record is spotless, his immigration record is spotless. The guy doesn't flip-flop. The guy isn't bought and sold.

The guy is a real-deal Conservative. The guy has the appeal of the middle of the road voter. The guy will be in a Presidential election in the next 8 years and the guy will win.

Am I full of it? Maybe. But you've got to admit, you're less convinced of that now than you were when you started this post.

***UPDATE***: This article was posted on Drudge today about Gingrich and Jindal, definitely worth the read...

Never knew Jindal was such a staunch conservative. He doesn't get much press. But the real question is... Is McCain really smart enough to put a guy like this on his ticket?

He needs a conservative though. Because he is not. Jindal appears to be qualified, and could definitely appeal to the conservative mass.

McCain will throw Liberman on the ticket.. That is a great idea. They both appeal to the majority of the population anyways. The country is now moving towards the middle. Right wingers and Left Wingers are a thing of the past.

Although I like Romney, he brings NADA to the ticket. He will bring conservatives, but they will show up for Mccain anyways. McCain needs someone who can get the women vote, bring more of blacks, and/or one who can assist w latino vote. Romney brings none of that. Plus Roney brings baggage as a Mormon especially w all these polygamy raids getting so much media attention.

Mr Salient, what exactly does Romney bring?

Romney will bring Michigan, which could be the 08 version of Ohio. + I think you should you court the black vote. I don't know in which state other then maybe Georgia that it could put you over. So its a terrific use of your resources. Will Jindal do a better Job getting the Latino vote then Romney and how about women?

Hey Jackass who would you put on the ticket?
